Discount Eurostar Tickets from and to London

To help our UK riders reach their trips, we offer deeply discounted “Eurostar” tickets to jump the channel (as little as 49€ return). Of course, this is of limited help if your trip starts in Salzburg, but it’s pretty useful if you are headed to the Loire! Indeed, you can use it regardless of where your trip starts: you simply buy ongoing tickets from Paris or Brussels separately (you must buy them through us, but we match any price). See our information on reaching and leaving your trip for details.

This offer, only open to riders on our cycle trips, is temporary. But as long as you see it on this page, it applies. Details are here.

New Trips in 2008

Several new 2-week trips are added this year...

Burgundy Biking
Years ago, we split our long-popular “Burgundy Biking” trip into two parts, north and south, corresponding to our current “Chardonnay Burgundy” and “Pinot Noir Burgundy” trips.

Well, in 2008 we are scheduling the two “half trips” side-by-side in late June, for the first time in several years, to allow Burgundy fans to take it all in at the same time. All that you’ve heard about France, and much that you haven’t, rolled into our favorite French ride.

Red Wine Roads
Or, how about a combination of France’s two greatest wine regions? For a real fan: compare and contrast pinot noir, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, and a host of cousins, while you bike through the world’s richest vineyards and some of it’s prettiest scenery. Three departures, in May, June and a harvest time departure in early September.

Essential Italia
After a successful trial run in ’07 (see happy alums dining in Domodossola, right), we have institutionalized the pairing of our two most popular Italian routes, Tuscany and the Lake District. This trip allows you to experience the sharp contrast in Italian scenery and culture between the striking Alps and velvet Tuscany, with a couple of 3 departures.

White Wine Roads
And finally, a personal favorite, Alsace and Switzerland. We have always felt that these two regions, roughly linked the Rhine axis, were a sort of “best-of” hodgepodge of Europe, with their mixes of language, archetectural style, history, even ecology. But we had trouble imagining that others would see things our way, and it is a hard concept to even explain. Turns out we don’t need to. When we accidentally put them back to back in our schedule one year, a whole bunch of people signed up for the combination. So here it is, without the hassles....

Schedule Your Own Departure

(Guest-Initiated Trips)
Pick Your Route, Pick Your Date

Not really new, but this was a terrific hit in 2007, when it was new (and it has already produced three ’08 departures): get five of your friends to go the same week you do, and schedule your own departure, on any of our routes! A minimum of six people can schedule a Blue Marble trip for whatever week they choose, while supplies (of coordinators, hotels, trains...) last. The trip will then be added to our schedule for the benefit of the great unwashed, adding an element of anticipation and excitement to what would otherwise be too much of a known quantity.... We already know you like adventure travel.

And, if you schedule your trip before November 30th of the prior year, you need only find three like-minded souls (4 total) to get it onto the program.
