How to go from the Gard du Nord to the Gare d’Austerlitz
Trains to the Loire Valley, the Cévennes, and night trains throughout France

To get to the Gare d’Austerlitz from Gare du Nord, take line 5 of the métro.

To find it: if you are standing in the station’s main hall, with your back to the trains, it is at the far right-hand end of the building, two levels down.

You can purchase a ticket for this ride in the booking hall, just before the turnstyles, if you did not buy it in advance from us. Keep your ticket: it can be inspected at any point during your journey.

Follow signs for the platform in the direction of “Place d’Italie.”

Take the next departing train, and ride for 9 stops (about 12 minutes), to the “Gare d’Austerlitz” station. Start paying attention when your train comes above ground: the second stop will now be yours. Line maps above every door let you follow your progress.

At Gare d’Austerlitz, follow signs for “Grandes Lignes” (main line trains) to come to the main station.
